About

Dr. Brenda Hochmuth, PhD

Brenda M. Hochmuth, PhD is a Northeast Georgia based wellness educator and practitioner whose teachings emanate from her extensive knowledge of psychology, biology, neuroscience, psychopharmacology, holistic healing, herbal/mineral/vitamin supplementation, nutrition-based cooking, and functional nutrition. Guided by her faith, Brenda’s approach is a collaboration of the physical, mental, emotional, practical, and spiritual realms of being. Her unique foundation began during a youth deeply immersed in the Amish culture and natural healing, which sparked a natural curiosity to seek truth and solutions beyond standard schooling. Recognizing the unique light that resides in every individual, Brenda rejects a one-size-fits-all approach to wellness.

An educator at heart, Brenda spent over 25 years as a college psychology professor, education/parenting consultant, mediator, event planner, and life/health coach. Following an over ten-year hiatus from the classroom to focus on practical health application, she has joyously returned to academia as an Associate Professor of Applied Developmental Neuropsychology at Truett McConnell University in Cleveland, Georgia.

This extensive background in human behavior and brain development, paired with numerous certifications in nutritional psychology, creates a powerful framework for her functional wellness practice. Armed with a finely-tuned skillset and an ability to search outside of the box for answers, Brenda excels at helping clients identify root causes of health issues, take preventative steps, and navigate a successful journey toward vibrant, integrated health.

Outside of the classroom and her practice, Brenda cherishes life in Cornelia with her husband, Scott; deeply appreciative of God's creation, they love setting off on travel adventures, hiking scenic trails, and kayaking (or tubing) down the Chattahoochee. She is also a proud mother to her daughter, Savannah, a dedicated doula, and is thoroughly enjoying her new role as "Honey" to her granddaughter, Sophia.
